Advocacy co-ordinator – Coventry

Working closely with the Advocacy Manager, this role entails managing a team of Advocacy Caseworkers who provide court-based independent advocacy and support to survivors of domestic violence, who are accessing the civil and criminal justice systems in Warwickshire.
Acting as a senior practitioner and manager of frontline staff, you will ensure that a high quality support service is provided to women and children affected by domestic violence. You will develop multi-agency working and represent Refuge at community meetings.
Background information for applicants
In this exciting new partnership-based service, you will provide court-based independent advocacy and support to survivors of domestic violence who are accessing the civil and criminal justice systems in Coventry. You will work with survivors from the point of crisis, assisting them through the court process and offering intensive support to help ensure short and long-term safety.
If you have experience of providing support to women within a community-based setting, an understanding of the issues facing survivors of domestic violence and a detailed working knowledge of the civil and criminal justice systems then consider these fixed term opportunities to be part of a valuable team.
An enhanced CRB is will be required for these roles. The posts are located in a police station and are therefore also subject to the West Midlands Police Service vetting procedures.
