Refuge is the country’s largest provider of specialist domestic violence services for women and children. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our fundraising team.
Major Donor Fundraising Officer REF: 031MDFO

Based Tower Hill, London
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in an experienced and dynamic fundraising team. As Major Donor Fundraising Officer you will have responsibility for growing an important area of income for Refuge. You will also be co-managing an exclusive, high level event to mark Refuge’s landmark 40th anniversary year. This will be a unique opportunity to demonstrate your excellent fundraising and event management skills.
The successful candidate will have a track record of securing income from high level philanthropists and achieving financial targets. You will have a thorough understanding of how to secure, engage and retain major donors in order to generate multi-year funding for the charity.
You will have strong communication and organisational skills, and a willingness to perform additional tasks for other fundraising areas (e.g. corporates) as and when required. You will take a flexible and enthusiastic approach to a challenging role.
Reporting to the Director of Communications and working closely with the Chief Executive you will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with donors. This post will appeal to an experienced and creative fundraising professional. This is a hands-on role with the autonomy to secure unrestricted income to support our vital services for women and children experiencing domestic violence.
