Refuge, is the country’s largest specialist provider of domestic violence services for women and children escaping domestic violence. We have the following opportunity:
Children’s Support Worker
Hounslow – 37.5 per week – circa £18,000 per annum – Ref: 025CSWHOUN
We have recently been successful in securing funding for a children’s support worker post in our West London service for women and children experiencing domestic violence.
We are looking for candidates with experience in working with children and a recognised qualification such as an NNEB or NVQ level 3. You will have experience of organising and providing play activities, ideally in a community-based setting such as a children’s centre.
The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting women and children escaping domestic violence. You will have good communication and team work skills and be able to use your own initiative. You will show strong organisational and administration skills.
The ability to build a rapport and trust with children and their mothers is essential in this work. Experience of supporting children and families who have experienced domestic violence is desirable.
