Refuge is the largest specialist service provider of domestic violence services in the country. It opened the world’s very first refuge in London in 1971 and celebrates its 40th birthday in 2011. On any given day Refuge is supporting over 1,600 women and children. It also runs the Freephone 24-hour National Domestic Violence Helpline in partnership with Women’s Aid.
Deputy Manager REF: 015DEPGR
Hours: 18.75 per week Salary: C£31,000 pro rata Location: Greenwich
This role requires an exceptional individual who wants to make a difference. You will have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to African and Caribbean women and managing case work. In addition you will have experience of managing and motivating staff, as well as knowledge of domestic violence issues and experience of working in either a women’s refuge or residential setting. A recognised social work, housing or management qualification would be desirable.
As member of the management team the postholder, will be required to be available to deal with out of hours emergencies.
