Refuge is the largest specialist service provider of domestic violence services in the country. It opened the world’s very first refuge in London in 1971 and celebrates its 40th birthday in 2011. On any given day Refuge is supporting over 1,600 women and children. It also runs the Freephone 24-hour National Domestic Violence Helpline in partnership with Women’s Aid.

The role involves providing a high quality professional support service to women and children affected by domestic violence who need to maintain either current or alternative safe accommodation.

You will have evidence of strong casework management skills, good written and verbal communication, and an understanding of the importance of maintaining clear professional boundaries. It is essential you have direct experience of providing support to women and an
understanding of current welfare rights/civil/criminal legislation relating to domestic violence.
