What refuge workers say about the role:

“I love the fact that I don’t always know what my day will look like. I might have a plan for the day which has to change, because one of the women I’m working with has an emergency.”

“One day could include reviewing a woman’s risk assessment and safety plan, doing a health and safety check, managing a minor dispute between residents, and getting a room ready for a new arrival. You wear so many hats you never have time to get bored in this job!”

Benefits include 28 days holiday, a non contributory pension scheme, employee assistance programme, death in service scheme and childcare voucher scheme.
