Refuge is the largest specialist service provider of domestic violence services in the country. It opened the world’s very first refuge in London in 1971 and celebrated its 40th birthday in 2011. On any given day Refuge is supporting over 1,600 women and children. It also runs the Freephone 24-hour National Domestic Violence Helpline in partnership with Women’s Aid.

These are exciting roles, reaching out to and supporting survivors of domestic violence in Cambridgeshire to enable them access to advice, advocacy, training and counselling.
You will provide one-to-one emotional and practical support to survivors of domestic violence; safeguarding them and their children as necessary. You will also work in partnership with other agencies to secure the best outcomes for your clients and for other survivors of domestic violence in Cambridgeshire.
You will have demonstrable experience of providing emotional and practical support, significant experience of working in a multi-agency setting and a clear commitment to securing positive life outcomes for your clients.
You will be self-sufficient, assertive and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with empathy and sensitivity to build and develop supportive relationships with abused women and their children whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
This post required the post holder to be able to drive and access to a car during working hours as well as being able to participate in the out of hours service.
