Sally’s story

Hello, I’m Sally Curson and I’m thrilled to be working with Refuge.

I know how easy it is to lose everything. I have experienced first-hand the devastation of domestic violence.  The last seven years of my life have been dedicated to making a better life for my children and I, having found ourselves destitute, homeless and broken. I understand women and children’s needs in this overwhelming situation and how vital Refuge’s support is to help to turn those lives around. I am delighted to now be able to support Refuge myself by helping to raise money for the charity via my exciting new beauty product range.

Launching Face Matters Skincare in November 2012 is the culmination of 4 years of hard work and passion to succeed.  I have created a product range and managed to finance the whole operation from conception to launch, against all the odds, whilst working as a self-employed beauty therapist and being a single mother with 2 children to support.

Disappointed with the empty promises of so many beauty products, I wanted to provide a skin care range that really worked.  My belief, honed over 20 years as a beauty therapist, is simple: when you nourish and nurture well, using natural products, the results can be astonishing.

My ‘eureka’ moment came when I combined natural botanical oils with collagen. The results were spectacular. I knew I was onto something. The oils, carefully chosen to blend with the collagen to create the luxurious products, all have substantial healing and nourishing effects on the skin. They are all of the purest quality. And I use them at levels that really make a difference.

But when I launched Face Matters, I also knew that I could at last fulfil another dream: to help women when they need help the most.

I shall never forget my journey and it has left me convinced of just how strong women can be and of how valuable we can be to each other.  It is vitally important to me that my products give something back by doing all I can to help provide the vital support and service that is so crucial to the women and children that find themselves in this terrifying situation.  I am very proud and delighted to have formed a partnership with Refuge, whereby a percentage of profits from the sale of all Face Matters products will be donated directly to the charity.

Face Matters isn’t just helping women look the best they can. It’s enabling women to help other women.
