Brighton Marathon

Refuge will be entering a team in the inaugural Brighton Marathon which takes place on Sunday 18th April 2010. The organisers are thinking big for this one – with a limit of 12,000 runners in its first year, this event is set to become the UK’s second largest marathon within a few short years. The planned course is mostly flat and set to be pretty fast, and takes in the best of Brighton including stunning sea views, finishing near the pier.

This is your chance to be one of the first to take part in what is sure to become a respected fixture in the running calendar!

The second wave of public places for this event sold out in minutes, and there are now no more places for sale by the event organisers. However, Refuge does have some guaranteed places available, and we would love you to join our team!. We will ask all runners on a Refuge place to pledge to raise at least £700 for our services. To apply for your place, simply download an application form and send it to fundraising@refuge.org.uk.

If you get your own place in this event, we would be delighted to welcome you onto the Refuge team! Own-place runners will not be set a specific fundraising target – anything you raise would be very gratefully received. Please do let us know if you have a place so that we can begin to offer our programme of support.

All runners in our team, whether you have your own place or run on a Refuge place, will receive our full package of support including:

  • Letter transfers so you can add your name to your top and encourage support from the crowd to spur you through the race
