Your impact starts here
Your generosity enables us to provide life-saving support, safe spaces for healing, and vital services that help survivors to rebuild their lives and hope for a brighter future.
This work is personal – because your giving is personal. We want to connect you with opportunities at Refuge that truly resonate with your values, whether that means trusting us to direct your gift where needs are greatest, or supporting a specific initiative close to your heart – like our children’s programme, which nurtures emotional wellbeing and trauma recovery, for the children of survivors – your contribution will make a meaningful difference.
Partnership in action: How we work together
At Refuge, philanthropy is more than donations – it’s a relationship built on trust and a desire to have a shared impact.
Here’s how we’ll collaborate with you:
- You’ll have a named point of contact, ready to answer any questions you may have and tailor your giving experience.
- You’ll gain behind the scenes insights and join our community of likeminded supporters driving change together.
- Invitations to exclusive events where you can connect directly with our team and fellow philanthropists.
- You’ll stay informed with tailored reports and regular updates showcasing the difference you’re making.
- Your recognition is entirely up to you – whether you prefer to give anonymously, or share your experience as a philanthropist with others.
We understand that some supporters have personal experiences with our cause, and we’re here with sensitivity and compassion every step of the way.
Your gift in action
Your generosity can create lasting impact:
- £4,564 could keep our specialist Tech and Economic Empowerment service running for two days, providing 1:1 support to survivors, and protecting them by working with tech companies and financial institutions.
- £10,000 could provide 200 children with enriching holiday activities, including trips to the zoo, aquariums and outdoor activity centres, vital to help children heal and make friends.
- £45,833 could keep one of our refuges running for two months, offering a safe haven and essential care to women and children fleeing domestic abuse.

“We’ve seen at first hand the terrible impact that domestic abuse can have on women and children: Maggie in her role as a midwife and Neil as a civil servant working on policy on domestic abuse back in the 1990s. By choosing to develop a long-term relationship with Refuge, it’s been very gratifying to be able to contribute financially and in other ways over many years. It’s vital that organisations like Refuge are supported to ensure survivors get the high-quality help the need and tackling domestic abuse remains a priority for Government and public services.”
“1 in 4 women experience domestic abuse during their lifetimes, yet funding to help survivors and their children is woefully inadequate. The Brook Trust thinks this is grossly unjust, which is why it is a priority for us. We have donated to Refuge since 2008 because of the incredible and highly effective work done by their dedicated staff, who work tirelessly to empower survivors and deliver life-saving support to families.”

“My whole life has changed since I have been here. It has been like being with friends and family. You took me and my children in when we had nothing and have turned our lives around and made me feel so strong. I just want to say thank you so much for everything you have done for me and my children. We have been so happy here.”
