Farrah’s Golden Gala

Farrah raised: £1000

Farrah, organised a ‘Golden Gala’ to raise money for Refuge and three other domestic abuse charities. The gala was held on the anniversary of when her former partner attacked her, turning an extremely traumatic event into a day of empowerment and solidarity with other survivors of domestic abuse. The event featured live performances, speeches and auctions; with Farrah telling survivors in the audience, ‘You are a survivor and from one survivor to another you are not alone’.  Farrah’s gala went on to raise an incredible £1,000 for Refuge!

Alex’s 24 hour maths exam for Refuge

Alex raised: £2,582.86

Alex completed two livestreams for Refuge and did 24 maths exams in 24 hours. Alex loved seeing mathematicians join the stream and answering questions they had during his challenge. Alex raised a huge £2,582.86  and said, ‘Charities like Refuge support those in greatest need, and it was an honour to do my part to support them’.

Keep Fit Association

Keep Fit Association raised: £26,000

The Keep Fit Association are a network of movement and dance teachers. They chose Refuge as their Charity of the Year and their teachers and members did a host of fundraising activities from coffee mornings, to sponsored walks and bakes and even choreographed a movement piece to the song ’Grow’ by Frances - made in collaboration with Laban Dance Fitness. They went on to raise a phenomenal £26,000 for Refuge! The chair of the Keep Fit Association Lynne Dowdican said, ‘we are immensely proud of this video and all the Keep Fit members that participated. A celebration of our love of movement and dance whilst helping raise funds for Refuge’.
