Hertfordshire IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy) service

If you are experiencing domestic abuse of any kind in Hertfordshire, Refuge’s regional IDVA service can support you and your children to keep safe.

Our local service offers:

  • The Hertfordshire Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy service provides confidential, non-judgmental and independent support for women and men aged 16+ living in the Hertfordshire area who are experiencing domestic abuse.
  • They provide essential emotional and practical support to survivors to ensure they understand their rights and options.

Hertfordshire Housing Advocacy Service

Housing Advocates offer specialist support for survivors of domestic abuse with complex housing issues. Co-located within each district council to offer support to staff and assist in the referral process. The Housing Advocates will work in a trauma-informed way, advocating on the behalf of survivors.

Housing Advocates will support:

  • Where there is current domestic abuse and a housing need.
  • Survivors living in Hertfordshire, or actively seeking to live in Hertfordshire.
  • Women and Men aged 16+ of all genders.
