Refuge stands with all survivors as the EHRC Code of Practice comes into force

‘As the updated Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) Code of Practice comes into effect this week, Refuge wants to reassure all survivors of domestic abuse that you are not alone, Refuge is here for you.

We stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic abuse including trans, non-binary, intersex and gender diverse survivors and will continue to provide gender inclusive services such as community outreach support and dispersed emergency accommodation, as well as single sex services in line with the law. We are committed to providing trauma-informed, expert support that reflects the needs, safety, and dignity of each individual survivor.

We will continue to partner with and amplify the work of critical specialist support services. The national specialist LGBT+ abuse and violence helpline run by Galop is also accessible for any LGBT+ person experiencing abuse or violence.’
