LMK (Let Me Know) – breaking the cycle of abuse before it starts

Find out more

On 19 October 2026, LMK merged with Refuge to lead its nationwide preventative education work. The union is built on the shared commitment of both organisations to prevent relationship abuse and create a safer future for young people.

What LMK does

LMK delivers workshops to young people in schools and community groups based around the 10 Signs framework, providing a clear set of behaviours for young people to look out for in all types of relationships. This helps young people spot and stop unhealthy relationship behaviours in themselves and others, giving them the tools and confidence they need to speak out, seek help, and keep themselves and their friends safe.  By building these skills early in life, LMK’s work helps breaks the cycle of relationship abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault before it begins.    To find out more and book LMKworkshops@refuge.org.uk

LMK’s approach

LMK’s workshops are co-created with young people – including the Youth Advisory Board – ensuring the content is shaped by their experiences and stays relevant to young people’s lives. These workshops are brought to life by experienced, near-peer, trauma-informed Leaders, who use a youth-centered, discussion-based approach to foster self-reflection in a safe, inclusive environment.

LMK’s 10 Signs workshops for young people

The foundation of LMK’s relationships education programme is the ‘Introducing the 10 Signs’ workshop. Once this is completed, LMK’s advanced workshops can be delivered individually or in combination to create a wider, enhanced programme.

  1. Introducing the 10 Signs: The essential foundation. A safe, relatable, and engaging workshop giving young people a clear framework to identify healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviours.
  2. Delving Deeper: Helps young people apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to explore the 10 Signs in more detail, choosing the topics most relevant to their lives.
  3. Sharing of Intimate Images: Examines consent, online pressures, and the consequences of sharing intimate photos, equipping young people with practical protection strategies.
  4. Impact of Pornography: Debunks widely held myths, challenging young people to think critically about how pornography shapes expectations, consent, and real-life relationships.
  5. Relationships with AI & the Digital World: Explores how social media, digital platforms, apps, and emerging AI technologies influence power, consent, and online safety.
  6. Power & Gender in Relationships: Supports young people to examine gender norms and healthy power dynamics, safely challenging stereotypes and attitudes that contribute to violence against women and girls.

"For the past four years, LMK has been coming into Thomas’s Clapham to deliver their excellent 'Introduction to the 10 Signs' workshops to our Year 8 pupils. Every year, regardless of the facilitators, the feedback from both staff and pupils is consistently positive. The sessions are energetic, fast-paced and highly engaging, keeping our pupils fully engaged throughout.

Working behind the scenes with LMK staff is always an absolute pleasure. Communication is clear and efficient, and they take the time to truly understand our cohort, seamlessly tailoring content to meet our cohorts' specific needs.

LMK complements our RSE curriculum brilliantly, reinforcing and embedding crucial messages about healthy and unhealthy relationships. Having an authentic external voice adds tremendous weight and credibility to these essential life lessons. We thoroughly value this partnership and look forward to continuing to work with LMK for years to come."
